Girl, if you would have said this photoshoot couldn’t be any more fun, goofy and sultry all in one– I would have never put the two together. We laughed all morning and then ate some French Pastries & had a lovely conversation. Miss Lauran, you have one of the greatest personalities and it shows in your eyes and light. For someone who is strong in a very spiritual sense and confidence—you can tell that you simply enjoy and embrace your feminity.
What really struck me was our conversation afterwards where we talked a lot about how “do it all.” Which in reality she doesn’t. None of us do. We are constantly striving and becoming more flexible each day. This nugget of wisdom came to conversation about how much being home and homeschooling felt super right for her right now.
Leading away from right and wrong- the judgmental type of this is right- to right for me. Being true to self and setting boundaries— in order to honor yourself. That sometimes when we choose what is right for ourself and our heart— and it ruffles other peoples feathers it’s cause the negative energies of this world know we are in our truth can sometimes try to tear you down. Usually in the form of close friends or people who love us fear that because it’s different from their truth and perception. That was profoundly powerful to hear this mama share her realization.
The last year working with the youth I heard these young women speak of their inadequacies and how hard they are on themselves. I really struggle with this too. What has helped her was that she learned, learned, emphasized … how to be kind to herself and speak kind words to herself through the process of motherhood.
Be gentle. Be kind. Give yourself grace. The art of motherhood is your own to create.
Girl, you make pregnancy & motherhood look stunning.
“For beautiful eyes, look for the good in others; for beautiful lips, speak only words of kindess; for poise, walk with the knowledge that you are never alone.”-Audrey Hepburn
